Ginger Miso Slow-Cooked Beef Short Ribs
Short ribs never fail to be one of my favourite dishes. They come out perfect every single time, and this dish is no different. The Asian flavours soak into the meat while it is slow-cooked until the meat falls apart. The miso gives it an umami depth, while the ginger and garlic give it a warm aromatic kick. You want to serve this with some rice to soak up all of the delicious sauce.
Chili Crisp Rainbow Carrot Salad
I was not fully convinced about chili crisp and was very late to jump onto the bandwagon, but now I fully get it and can’t stop putting it on everything. It’s more than just chili- there’s so much flavour packed in that tiny jar. It works so perfectly with this carrot salad. It packs a slight punch, while the vinegar keeps it bright, and the carrot ribbons stay crunchy and soak up all of the flavour from the marinade.
Prawn Sesame Brioche Burgers with a Chili Crisp Carrot Salad
These are so fresh and vibrant with ginger, garlic, and spring onions chopped up in the patties; the bun is smeared with a lime, soy, and yogurt sauce; and the burger is topped with microgreens and a chili crisp rainbow carrot salad. These are perfect for a fresh lunch in the summer.
Charred Ginger Soy Bok Choy
If you’ve never tried bok choy before, I would highly recommend this underrated vegetable. It has a mild, almost sweet flavour, and has a beautiful crisp crunch to it. Cooked right, it can easily be the star of the show, and I think this recipe does that.
It’s charred in a pan, then cooked with ginger, garlic, and a medley of Asian sauces. Topped with sesame seeds, and it’s well on its way to becoming your new favourite Asian side dish.
Healthy Orange Chicken
Who doesn’t love orange chicken? To make a healthier version of this beloved zesty takeout dish, I pan-fry the chicken instead of battering and frying them, and there are also a ton of veggies in this dish. It’s a great weeknight dinner that the whole family will love!
Thai Cashew Chicken
This is seriously the best Thai cashew chicken I’ve ever had. This dish has been a firm favourite when ordering takeout for a long time, and now I can finally say that “we have cashew chicken at home” because this is better than takeout. It’s saucy, nutty, and full of fresh, crunchy veg and tender chicken strips. Next time you are thinking about ordering in, try making this instead.
Steamed Ricepaper Prawn Dumplings
These dumplings are so delicious and such a lovely starter or side dish. They are steamed and made with ricepaper, so they are a healthier alternative to other dumplings. If you are intimidated by making dumplings, don’t be! Give it a try and see how easy it is to make these prawn dumplings at home.
Gochujang Garlic Carrots
These are tender, slightly spicy, and full of flavour. It is a great way to use up a lot of carrots, and they are so tasty that people will be eating them up like fries. It pairs well with any Asian dish or Sunday roast as a side.
Asian Style Fried Pork Chop
These come out crispy on the outside and super flavourful on the inside. It is juicy and has a great blend of asian flavours, making this a perfect weeknight dinner treat. You can leave the pork to marinate for an hour, but overnight is even better. Pair it with something fresh to cut through the fat, and you have yourself a perfect meal.
