Strawberry Matcha
A refreshing matcha with bursts of strawberry. This is a favourite to grab at a cafe, but you won’t believe how easy it is to make at home. Using fresh strawberries instead of bottled syrups, this will be way better for you and it tastes delicious!
Ingredients
½ cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1 tbsp sugar
ice
1 cup milk of your choice
1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder
Method
Wash your strawberries and remove the stems, then cut them into small chunks.
Add the strawberries and sugar to a small pot and set to medium heat. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the strawberries are soft and jammy. Use a fork to mash them.
You can either press the strawberries through a strainer for a finer sauce or leave them as is for a chunky sauce.
Add about 2-3 tablespoons of the strawberry sauce to the bottom of a glass and add some ice, then top it up with your milk.
In a small bowl, add your matcha and a splash of water, then whisk it with a bamboo matcha whisk until there are no lumps. Pour the matcha over the milk and stir to mix everything together. Enjoy!
